Tree Ferns

Rhizomes thick, forming a trunk; densely hairy (no scales); leaves forming terminal tufts, 3-pinnate. Sori at margins of pinnae, indusium 2-valved.

One species naturalized in Britain and Ireland; others may become so in future; several tree-fern species of the genus Cyathea are also grown and may become naturalized.
